New EICC Fellows Appointments

We are pleased to announce the addition of two new scholars to the Ezra Institutes Fellows program: D.F.M. (Danie) Strauss and Willem J. Ouweneel.

We are pleased to announce the addition of two new scholars to the Ezra Institute’s Fellows program: D.F.M. (Danie) Strauss, Fellow for Reformational Philosophy, and Willem J. Ouweneel, Fellow for Systematic Theology. While new to the EICC, Willem and Danie have both served extensively in several academic and ministry positions throughout the world.

Willem Ouweneel is a prolific scholar, author and preacher, who holds doctoral degrees in Biology, Philosophy, and Theology. He is Professor Emeritus at the Evangelical Theological Faculty in Leuven (Belgium). His latest book, The World is Christ’s: A Critique of Two Kingdoms Theology, published by Ezra Press, is a thorough review of the historical, logical, and exegetical considerations surrounding the Two Kingdoms controversy, and helps readers understand that everything we do is an act of worship – the issue is whether our worship is directed towards God or away from him.

Danie Strauss is the world's leading expert on the theory of modal aspects, one of the core features of the thought of the Dutch philosopher, Herman Dooyeweerd, and the movement for Reformational philosophy. He is currently based in his native South Africa as Research Fellow at the School of Philosophy, North West University, Potchefstroom, where he writes on the intersection of a Reformational philosophy with a variety of disciplines.

He has published hundreds of peer-reviewed articles throughout his career, exploring the significance of shared philosophical problems for twelve different academic disciplines. He has also authored several books. Perhaps his most notable publication is the book Philosophy: Discipline of the Disciplines, winner of the 2011 Herman Dooyeweerd prize from the Christian Philosophy Conference.

Willem and Danie have both begun contributing to the EICC Resource Library, and you can expect to see more of their work shortly on Philosophy, Theology, History, with the goal of bringing all things under the Lordship of Jesus Christ.
