Ezra Institute Welcomes Three New Fellows

The Ezra Institute is pleased to announce the appointment of three new Ezra Fellows: Rev. Jacob Tanner, Stephen Perks, and Richard Fangrad. Each of these men brings a wealth of knowledge and ministry experience that will strengthen our work of advancing a distinctly biblical worldview and fostering cultural reformation in every sphere of life.

The Ezra Fellowship brings together pastors, theologians, scholars, and cultural leaders who are committed to the comprehensive lordship of Jesus Christ. Through research, teaching, writing, and mentorship, our Fellows help equip the Church to think Christianly, live faithfully, and engage the world with the truth and power of the gospel.

These new appointments reflect the growing scope of the Fellowship and our shared mission to recover a full-orbed, reformational vision for Christian thought and practice.

Rev. Jacob Tanner — Fellow for Puritan Thought

Rev. Jacob Tanner serves as the pastor of Christ Keystone Church in Middleburg, Pennsylvania. He writes for a variety of ministries and is the author of several works, including Wait and Hope: Puritan Wisdom for Joyful Suffering (RHB, 2024) and Resist Tyrants, Obey God: Lessons Learned from the Life and Times of John Knox (Founders, 2025).

Rev. Tanner’s work reflects a deep appreciation for Puritan theology and its enduring relevance for Christian life today. As Fellow for Puritan Thought, he will contribute to the Institute’s teaching and writing on piety, perseverance, and the practical application of biblical truth in personal and ecclesial life.

Stephen Perks — Fellow for Kuyperianism and Christian Missiology

Stephen Perks is the Director of the Kuyper Foundation and Editor of Christianity & Society, the Foundation’s journal. He has written extensively on theology, worldview, economics, politics, education, and cultural transformation, and has lectured at conferences throughout the United Kingdom, Europe, and North America.

As a Fellow for Kuyperianism and Christian Missiology, Stephen brings decades of experience articulating and applying Abraham Kuyper’s vision of Christ’s lordship over every area of life. His work emphasizes the necessity of Christian cultural engagement rooted in sound theology and faithful witness.

Richard Fangrad — Fellow for Biblical Creational Worldview & Science

Richard Fangrad has been speaking and teaching on the creation/evolution issue since 1994 and currently serves as CEO of Creation Ministries International–Canada. He is the producer and co-host of the globally broadcast television program Creation Magazine LIVE!.

Raised in a Christian home, Richard wrestled with doubts about the Bible’s accuracy in his youth, but through apologetics and creationist teaching came to a firm conviction of its truth. Since then, he has become a leading voice for biblical creation and a consistent advocate for the authority of Scripture in all areas of life and science.

Richard’s professional background is in electronics, where he worked on advanced technologies for over a decade before entering full-time ministry. He lives in Kitchener, Ontario, with his wife, and they have five children.

Their combined expertise in theology, science, education, and cultural engagement will further the Institute’s mission to equip believers with a robust, reformational worldview and to advance the Lordship of Christ in every sphere of life.

We are grateful for their partnership and look forward to their contributions to the Ezra Institute’s work.
