We return to the second half of our interview with Jonathan Burnside, discussing the concept of humble government, beginning with the understanding that the earthly king is himself under a higher law and Sovereign. Music graciously provided by Jacob Moon. Get Joe Boot’s book, The Mission of God.
Ezra Institute Fellow Jonathan Burnside introduces the obvious political implications of the Bible. As a holy nation and a nation of priests, Israel was meant to stand before God in regard to all the nations of the world. By embodying and holding forth the gift of Torah, they were to be a light to all the nations.
EICC Fellow Jonathan Burnside explains the blessings of following God's law that accrue to a nation.
EICC Fellow Dr. Jonathan Burnside talks about law, authority, and wisdom, and how each of these are eminently embodied in Jesus.
Witchcraft is the attempt to acquire knowledge or power by manipulation and control. Scripture is clear that, apart from God and his word, such an act is in fact a headlong plunge into folly. The apostle James reminds us the path to true spiritual insight: “If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask God, who gives generously to all without reproach, and it will be given him” (James 1:5). A humble and faithful plea to the only wise God is the way of wisdom. Any supposed shortcuts are the way of rebellion.
