We also talk about the nature of oaths and authority, the Sermon on the Mount, what it means for something to be damned by God, and door-to-door sales. Ezra Institute Fellow Jonathan Burnside introduces the obvious political implications of the Bible. As a holy nation and a nation of priests, Israel was meant to stand before God in regard to all the nations of the world. By embodying and holding forth the gift of Torah, they were to be a light to all the nations.
