Witchcraft

by Joe Boot and Jonathan Burnside and Peter Jones and Ryan Eras

April 14, 2016

Witchcraft is the attempt to acquire knowledge or power by manipulation and control. Scripture is clear that, apart from God and his word, such an act is in fact a headlong plunge into folly. The apostle James reminds us the path to true spiritual insight: “If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask God, who gives generously to all without reproach, and it will be given him” (James 1:5). A humble and faithful plea to the only wise God is the way of wisdom. Any supposed shortcuts are the way of rebellion.

What is the Gospel?

by Andrew Sandlin and Dennis Doty and Joe Boot and Michael Nazir-Ali and Ryan Eras

December 7, 2015

If the Gospel is rightly described as Good News, we must ask what the news is about. The answer Jesus gives is that it is “the good news of the kingdom of God” (Luke 4:43; Acts 8:12). The good news of the Gospel is that Jesus Christ is King of kings and Lord of lords, and that He is building His kingdom of righteousness among us.

Gnosticism & Paganism

by David Robinson and Joe Boot and Pamela Frost and Peter Jones and Ryan Eras

July 6, 2015

Alone among world religions, biblical Christianity acknowledges God as a being totally distinct from His created order. Pagan beliefs and gnostic ideologies seek ways for man to become as God, while Christianity is clear that the chief end of man is to love and glorify God as His image-bearer.

“Social Justice” is a popular but often misunderstood term. In order to truly understand and do justice, we must base its definition and practice on the eternal, infallible Word of God, and on no other foundation.

The Colour of Death and the Law of Life

by Joe Boot and Mark Musser and Michael J. Oard

June 10, 2014

Rejecting the apocalyptic predictions and pseudo-science of the popular media does not mean a commitment to a misuse of God's creation – on the contrary. In Christ, we become God's redeemed gardeners, tilling and tending all things, turning creation into a culture to the glory of God.

In the attempt to create paradise on earth, man has rejected God and deified the State.

Gender and Sexuality

by David Robinson and Jennifer Forbes and Joe Boot and Peter Jones and Scott Masson

April 1, 2013

Human sexuality is intrinsic to the created order, and God's intent for it is happiness, blessing, and offspring; it is a gift. Rejection of this gift is the source of relational chaos and disorder; it is vandalism and not freedom.

Law and Gospel (Part 2)

by David Robinson and Jeffery Ventrella and Jennifer Forbes and Joe Boot and Ryan Eras

December 1, 2012

God's law and God's gospel work together for our salvation and sanctification. We are not simply ignorant; we are the dead brought to life – convicted and executed under the law, and raised to new life by the gospel.

Medicine cannot save an unregenerate heart. Christ is the Great Physician, who restores sinners spiritually and bodily. And He is the Lawgiver, providing the foundation for medical ethics.
