Matthew
The King of the Jews
Jesus is the King of the nations who brings peace and salvation and demands our allegiance.
Ministry, Service, and Power
The humanist vision of the future is to bring rebirth by controlling people; the biblical vision is that the powerful work of the Holy Spirit will transform people. When we try to change people by our own power we end up sinfully dominating and controlling others. We are called to serve, not change, others. We cannot make a new creation out of anyone; only God can. In seeking the kingdom and righteousness of God, we seek God’s purposes instead of instant personal satisfaction. We exercise a power and authority from beyond history, for the good of future generations.

Christ and Culture
Culture is inescapably religious and therefore it cannot be neutral. Defying all opposition, Christ's transforming power is re-making individuals and redeeming every area of life in terms of his kingdom purposes.
Who is this Man?
We're not strong enough to hold onto the cross in the storms of life; the gospel is that Jesus is holding on to me.
Founded on the Rock
Obedience doesn't always manifest itself in obvious ways, and so the counterfeit Christian may easily pretend to be real.
False Peace
It is a false peace when the word of the Lord is not bringing us to a genuine peace with God.
Fruit Inspectors
There is earthly wisdom growing in bitter envy and strife, and there's heavenly wisdom, pure, peace-loving, submissive, full of good fruit, compassionate and sincere.
The Golden Rule
The golden rule is in fact unique to Christianity, given the theological and moral framework of the Bible which defines its parameters.
Asking and Receiving
Coming under God's fatherhood, we have the right of petition, and all necessary gifts He will grant.
Judging Others
To judge others by human standards is both hypocritical and self-blinding. Whoever judges by the word of God begins his censure with himself.
