1 John: Walking in the Light

First announced in Eden, God in Christ has a cosmic program to destroy the works of the Devil; we are to take part in Christ's work to defeat all His enemies.

The knowledge of God given us by the Spirit is not mere information, but it is a relational and intimate knowledge.

Today the threat of antichrist is no less real than it was in John's day. To grasp both the Word and Spirt of God inwardly is our only safeguard against lies.

God has revealed Himself as Father. Human fathers are to reflect God's protection, provision and spiritual care toward their children.

The test of true religion is not private spiritual experiences, theological orthodoxy, or participation in the visible church. Our assurance of salvation increases with our obedience in heart, mind, and soul, loving God and seeking his commandments.

As we confess our sins daily the redeeming blood of Jesus cleanses us, giving us access to the fellowship of God.

When John speaks of eternal life, he is not referring to life that lasts forever; he is talking about the very life of God, to which we are invited.
